Character and Customizations for Each Hickory Plank

Hickory Wood Grade

Mountain Craft offers three different types of character for each species – young, old, and a blend of young and old. Younger wood grade consist of less character and is usually more uniform in color within planks. Older wood grade displays the characteristics throughout the tree’s life and has little restrictions on knot size or color uniformity between planks.

Hickory Customizations

Further customize your Hickory Wide Planks by choosing customizations such as wire brushing, hand scraping, antiquing, saw marks and pinned ends.

Hickory Plank Widths

Planks are available in lengths of 16' and nothing shorter than 12". Custom lengths are also available for herringbone and other custom install patterns. Available flooring plank widths are 3" up to 8", as single size planks or varying width packages i.e. (3",4",5"), (5",6",7"), (3",5",7") (6",8"). If you need a width outside of this range please give us a call. We pride ourselves on being a custom shop and will strive to accommodate your requests

Hickory Custom Finishes

Mountain Craft offers a custom spray finish or hand-rubbed oil finish. Spray finishes provide a durable, low-maintenance finish in a variety of custom stain colors and sheen options. Custom hand-rubbed finishes accentuate the character and beauty of each plank through natural oils and waxes and are available in a pure (clear) option or endless custom stain options.

Mountain Craft Wide Plank is a West Virginia based flooring manufacturer specializing in custom wide plank flooring created from local Appalachian hardwoods.

At Mountain Craft, we only sell products that we manufacture. We are NOT a distributor of third-party products but rather a manufacturer that carefully mills each flooring order individually, selling direct to homeowners and tailoring the final product to our customer’s specifications. Our small size allows us to to provide unmatched customer service and the ability to produce truly custom wide plank wood flooring options.
